Inpatient, day patient and outpatient services

Visits to the hospital are classified as either inpatient, day patient or outpatient.

An inpatient stay is when the patient stays overnight in the hospital. For further details please see Information for patients and visitors (Admission, A to Z of your hospital stay, Rooms, Catering, etc.)

Day patient treatment is when the patient is admitted and discharged on the same day. This is the case with many eye operations, for example.

At Döbling Private Hospital, you can be treated by the physician of your choice if you have private supplementary health insurance (in this case, we bill your private insurance directly), or are able to pay the bill entirely yourself. Our employees will be pleased to help with any inquiries about pricing or estimated costs. For more details, see Fees, billing.

Outpatient treatment is offered at our hospital by the Institute for Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

At Döbling Outpatient Center, you can take advantage of comprehensive diagnostic capabilities (e.g. radiology, laboratory) plus outpatient treatments in various specialist areas. These services can be obtained either as covered insurance benefits upon presentation of your e-card (and a referral, if applicable) or by paying the private doctor rates. Detailed information can be found on the pages of the Outpatient Centers, institutes and other centers.

In addition, over 100 medical specialists maintain private practices in the Döbling Doctor’s Office Center.
